Bird Migration Forecasts?

You may be slightly confused or even skeptical when you hear about 'Bird Migration Forecasts', but that is exactly what the Cornell Lab of Ornithology is continuing to do, as they have for multiple years. Using the current weather forecasts, scientists detrmine the probability of bird migrations and of what species. They then portray the data on a radar map which scrolls through showing which days will be best for birding, just as a regular weather map shows the path of an oncoming storm.

Weather greatly affects the migration patters of birds, so scientists can use this data along with other information to (fairly) accurately predict species migrations. Does their method really work? Try the migration forecast map for yourself at www.birdcast.info
